На следующий день, всё своё свободное время Вонбеом посвящает тренировке. В этот раз никто не вызывается стать его спарринг партнёром, и он отрабатывает движения в одиночку. Брат тоже избегает его, и он в какой-то степени этому рад. Это даёт ему возможность подумать над словами Хонга.
Действительно, почему ему так захотелось поцеловать Сойонг? Он, наверное, сошел с ума.
Чжо Хва Джин, женщина которой он пообещал своё сердце. Так почему же оно предательски бьётся быстрее при виде Королевы?
«Черт возьми!» Он выкрикивает, пугая других тренирующихся.
Вонбеом быстро покидает поля боя, не дожидаясь своих слуг. Он хочет побыть один и решает скрыться от посторонних глаз выбрав длинный путь через сад. В летнем саду сейчас особенно красиво, он будто утопает в море красок и приятных запахов многочисленных цветов. Он думает, не сорвать ли ему цветок и… Подарить кому, собственно? Чжо Хва Джин или Ким Сойонг? Вонбеом мысленно ругается, не стесняясь в выражениях, выученных за годы жизни простолюдином. Даже цветы теперь вызывают у него головную боль! Так больше не может продолжаться, он должен что-то сделать. Должен во всем разобраться.
Он собирается было отправится в сторону Тэджоджон Холла, когда видит знакомое лицо. Это маленькая девочка, которую он видел вместе с Сойонг. Девочка с щенком. Только в этот раз она совсем одна. Судя по тому как, она ходит от куста к кусту, низко наклоняясь, она потеряла своего пушистого друга.
«Здравствуй!» Вонбеом с улыбкой приветствует девочку, направляясь к ней. Но к его удивлению, испуганно пискнув, девочка прячется в кустах. Озадаченный он подходит ближе к кусту, за которым она спряталась и резко заглядывает за него. Девочки нет. Она что, сбежала от него? Он всего лишь сказал привет, зачем играть в прятки?
Вонбеом делает себе пометку на будущее, разобраться почему ребёнок его так испугался. Он слышит голоса евнухов из его окружения, которые видимо догадались что он решил пойти через сад. И тоже убегает, всё ещё надеясь провести как можно больше времени без лишних глаз.
Оказавшись у Тэджоджон Холл, он конечно же встречает Ким Бьён Ина. Кузен Королевы уже покидает её покои и одаривает Короля презрительным взглядом. Вонбеом в долгу не остаётся. Слуги объявляют об его прибытии, и он входит в покои Королевы.
«Моя Королева.» Он кивает в приветствии. Сойонг же поднимается на ноги и кланяется ему.
«Ваше Величество, чем я обязана такому приятному сюрпризу?» Любезно спрашивает она.
«Просто хотел узнать, как Вы себя чувствуете после вчерашнего.» Он подходит ближе, не желая говорить на расстоянии. «Удалось ли Вашему брату что-либо выяснить?»
«Боюсь, что нет, Ваше Величество.» Сойонг явно разочарована и обеспокоена. «Я в безопасности здесь, но если целью был мой брат, то…»
«Я слышал об успехах Ким Бьён Ина в военном деле, уверен он будет в порядке.» Мысленно, Вонбеом надеется, что у его окружения не возникнет необходимости меряться с Ким Бьён Ином силами снова. Это лишь усложнит и без того непростые отношения между ним и Сойонг. Видя, как она искренне беспокоится о своём брате, она не сможет простить Вонбеома если что-то случится.
«А меня больше беспокоит Ваша безопасность за пределами дворца.» Он понижает голос до шёпота, чтобы слуги за дверьми не услышали.
«Брат отныне будет встречать меня у стен, поэтому я буду в порядке. Благодарю за Ваше беспокойство, Ваше Величество.» Сойонг отвечает и потом осматривает его, будто только заметив его наряд. «Вы… пришли сюда сразу после тренировки?»
Вонбеом смотрит вниз и да, он всё ещё в своём голубом расшитым золотым изображением дракона одеянии для тренировок и охоты. Он совсем забыл об этом, спонтанно решив навестить Королеву.
«А… да.» Неуверенно отвечает Вонбеом. «Я не планировал заходить, само как-то вышло.» Он чувствует, как его щеки начинают гореть от её внимательного взгляда. «Может прогуляемся вместе? Есть кое-что, что я хочу Вам показать.»
Сойонг не смеет отказать Королю, и они покидают её покои вместе. Придворная Дама Чхве и ХонгЕон так же отправляются с ними, но держатся на расстоянии. Вонбеом ведёт Сойонг к южной стене, окружающей дворец. Это тихое место, где слуги обычно не ходят, а стража проверяет не так часто. К тому же вокруг есть деревья и кусты, где можно спрятаться, если в этом появится необходимости.
«Помните, я обещал Вам подарок, с которым Вы не заходите расставаться, Моя Королева?» Он рисует дугу рукой, показывая на каменную стену.
«Вы дарите мне стену?» Вопросительно приподняв бровь, интересуется Сойонг. На её губах играет насмешливая улыбка.
«Конечно нет.» Вонбеом внезапно смущается. «Это идеальное место, чтобы тайно покидать дворец.»
«Ааа,» Сойонг понимающе протягивает слова. «Вы решили смухлевать?»
«Что?» Он удивленно смотрит на неё.
«Ваш подарок — это совет, какое место лучше использовать. Нельзя вернуть или передарить этот совет. Поэтому я не смогу отказаться от Вашего подарка даже если захочу.» Объясняет Сойонг. «Звучит как уловка, чтобы не думать над настоящим подарком.»
«Я начал забывать какой придирчивой Вы можете быть.» Вонбеом коротко смеётся.
«Хорошо, я придумаю подарок, который вы физически сможете мне вернуть, но не захотите этого делать.»
Сойонг победно улыбается. Это такое ребячество, но рядом с ней всё чувствуется таким настоящим. Он никогда не бывает таким с Хва Джин, его отношения с ней всегда такие взрослые, хотя ей тоже восемнадцать лет, как и Сойонг.
Такой прекрасный момент нарушают конечно же слуги. Бедный старый евнух подбегает, запыхавшись и укоризненно спрашивает где Его Величество пропадали всё это время.
Вонбеому ничего не остаётся, как соврать что они с Королевой просто гуляли по территории дворца. Надеясь что в своём следующем отчете Великой Вдовствующей Королевы евнух упустит где именно он их нашёл и Сойонг сможет в дальнейшем пользоваться его советом.
Они расстаются и Вонбеом отправляется в свою резиденцию, чтобы сменить одежду. Он столько тренировался сегодня, что ему стоит и ванну принять в кратчайшие сроки.

His mind is gave up after one almost kiss, idk why he played hard to get, making all this walls, so she won’t get in. And all those walls crashed over night basically 😂

AAAAAH LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CHAPTER!!! That last paragraph is just 😍😍😍! Finally admitting that he is wholly irrevocably in love with SY! His whole mind body and soul!
Obvi not expecting SY to take him back quickly! Some more trust on her part and groveling from him would be needed! And also the path to forgiveness would obvi be hard and long. Would there be a part where CJ would understand the extent of his shitty behavior to SY and how his love was HJ was never actually love, just a misunderstanding of the feelings he got from her “saving” him from the well? Which is never true to begin with
Also omg what if once CJ and SY confess their love to each other and are finally happily together, YP and HJ work together to kill SY which ended up with SY getting really really injured/ill? Obvi HJ would be more dangerous since CJ no longer loves her, and YP is just a stubborn mule who is bent on revenge and HJ could easily manipulate YP to do her bidding

There is no way back for CJ and I really dislike how on the show he kinda ignores HJ instead of telling her everything. HJ is still a witch but I think she deserves better treatment in that part.
HJ and YP are very dangerous and they will create some drama for our royal couple and tears will be shed for sure. But happy days are coming too <3
I love writing CJ's pov because:

This is one of my favorite chapters ~ ❤️ I’ve already read it 5 times 🤣
I really loved this line as it greatly summarized CJ’s inner conflict : “Indeed, why did he want to kiss Soyong so much? He's probably out of his mind. Jo Hwa Jin, the woman to whom he promised his heart. So why does it beat treacherously faster at the sight of the Queen?”
CJ is really a fool in terms of deciphering a woman’s heart. It’s just right that SY won’t easily give her heart to a man that did various things to dismiss her and made her feel worthless. It will be difficult for SY to know if his “romantic” intentions are real or its just part of his scheme. The least she can give him first is friendship/ camaraderie..
After all those shitty things CJ did to SY, I felt it is just for him to put great effort to make amends with her. I hope to see more jelly CJ seeing SY interact with Byeong In or Yoon Min Joon, I think this will make CJ realize how jerk he was to SY which made her so distant to him.
I can just imagine how CJ overthinks on the best ways to gain her love, but SY just take his efforts lightly and dismiss his feelings. 🤣
Btw.. I really loved the ending of CJ having those kind of lusty dreams. It is really fun to read his POV when it comes to his feelings to SY. I think he still needs to seek more love advice with Director Hong haha

WAIT. HOLD UP. SY squeezing his clothes when they were about to kiss — AWW. Even CJ questioned their intimacy and SY managed to shove him away. So cuteeee, the two of them. Though CJ deserved it, and loved every word of Director Hong’s advice.
But now I am curious about what happens to YP now that he actually hurt BI and especially SY. Though I am happy to see the transition of CJ protecting SY. Now are we going to see BI vs YP bare chest push-ups? 🤭🕵️♀️
Not me looking into the comments for any spoilers about how CJ solved his end-chapter problems and I am just glad I am not the only one who wanted to know! 🤣🤣🤣
