Не дойдя до офиса Хонга, Вонбеом видит ночную стражу, покидающих здание. Он прячется в тени и заходит внутрь только когда они скрываются из виду. Внутри, Директор Хонг и Принц Ёнпхён притворяются будто играют в туджеон. Но увидев его они бросают карты на стол и поднимаются на ноги.
«Ваше Величество, Вы не пострадали?» Принц Ёнпхён подбегает к Вонбеому, оглядывая его с ног до головы. «Зачем Вы остановили меня?!»
Волнение брата только раздражает Вонбеома. Увидев его, он внезапно понимает насколько он сердит его выходкой.
«Зачем?» Вонбеом чувствует, как ярость охватывает его. «Ты чуть было не убил невиновную женщину… Нет, ты покушался за жизнь моей жены и ещё смеешь спрашивать почему я встал между вами?»
«Она шпионила за нами!» Спорит Ёнпхён.
«Есть ли тому хоть какие-то доказательства? Или каждый раз, когда наши пути пересекутся, ты будешь думать, что в этом есть скрытый умысел?» Вонбеом повышает голос на старшего брата, что он раньше никогда не делал.
«Мы не можем так рисковать, Ваше Величество!» голос Ёнпхёна гремит на всю комнату.
Оба брата тяжело дышат, глядя друг другу в глаза. Каждый упрямо верит в собственную правоту. Но есть исключение, Вонбеом Король, а значит он выше своего брата по статусу, а значит он может его отчитывать сколько хочет.
«Это моя женщина!» голос Вонбеома тверд и непреклонен. «Человек, ответственный за её жизнь, не ты мой брат, а я. И мне решать, что с ней произойдёт!»
«Она из семьи ответственной за смерть наших близких, вы уже забыли об этом?» В глазах его брата появляются слезы, скорбь о потерянной семьи ещё слишком глубока.
«Как ты смеешь обвинять меня в этом?» Вонбеом тоже не может сдержать слёз. Он видит их в кошмарах почти каждую ночь, как его брат может говорить подобное? «Ничего не забыто и ничего не прощено!»
«Тогда почему же вы…» его брат отворачивается, его плечи обессилено опускаются. «Вы попали в ловушку этой женщины, разве Вы не видите?»
«Даже если это так, хеонгним. Окончательное решение всё ещё за мной.» Вонбеом пытается успокоится. Сегодня он чуть было не потерял дорогих ему людей и хоть он злится на брата, в глубине души он рад что тот смог вовремя скрыться. Он не хочет снова видеть члена его семьи казнят у него на глазах. «Я дал тебе слово и сдержу его.»
«Вы два болвана.» Внезапно слышится голос Директора Хонга. «Оба мнения могут быть верными, нельзя слепо следовать лишь одному.»
Братья поворачиваются на голос и видят, как Хонг сидит за столом и чистит свою любимую винтовку. Они даже не услышали, как он ходил по комнате и разбирал её на части за столом.
«Поэтому давайте осторожно законсервируем эти две мысли и посмотрим, что произойдёт.» Предлагает он. «Вонбеом может и дальше сближаться с Королевой и если она не виновна, то не о чем беспокоится. Может это даже нам на руку.» Хонг рассуждает, начиная собирать винтовку обратно. «А наш нетерпеливый принц, будет ставить всё под сомнение. И если он прав, то он сможет вовремя тебя остановить.» Хонг ставит последний элемент винтовки на место с тихим щелчком и прицеливается в книжный шкаф. «Но Король прав, решение за ним.»
«С каких пор ты таким умным стал?» Вонбеом говорит, обмениваясь раздраженным взглядом с Принцем Ёнпхёном.
«Даже если она невиновна, они могут использовать Ваши чувства к ней, против Вас.» Принц Ёнпхён не сдаётся со своим последним аргументом. «Вы подвергаете себя ещё большей опасности.»
«Так же они использовали и Королевскую наложницу Ын.» Вонбеом отмечает. «Никто из моего окружения не может быть в безопасности. К какой бы семье они не относились.»
«Говоря о последней…» Хонг снова поднимает голос. «Разве ты е влюблён в Леди Чжо Хва Джин? Почему мы обсуждаем Королеву как даму сердца?»
«Ещё одна причина ненавидеть эту женщину…» фыркает принц.
«Йа, Вонбеом, а в том, чтобы быть Королём есть свои преимущества!» Хонг смеётся.
«Сколько там жён ты можешь официально завести?»
«Мгновение назад, я думал, что ты действительно умён.» Вонбеом качает головой. «Но ты всё такой же идиот!»
«Зато Вы спорить перестали…» Хонг замечает. «Вы двое единственная семья друг друга. Вам не стоит так спорить больше. Просто примите тот факт, что Ваши мнения расходятся и двигайтесь дальше.»
Они решают отправится по домам, но на выходе Хонг останавливает Вонбеома положив ему руку на плечо и тихо, так чтобы не услышал принц, говорит:
«Друг мой, я дам Вам один совет…»
«Я об этом не просил…» Вонбеом спорит, но хватка Хонга на плече становится сильнее.
«Не лезьте целоваться к одной даме, не разобравшись в чувствах к другой. Это плохой тон, Ваше Величество. Даже если они обе Ваши жёны.»

His mind is gave up after one almost kiss, idk why he played hard to get, making all this walls, so she won’t get in. And all those walls crashed over night basically 😂

AAAAAH LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CHAPTER!!! That last paragraph is just 😍😍😍! Finally admitting that he is wholly irrevocably in love with SY! His whole mind body and soul!
Obvi not expecting SY to take him back quickly! Some more trust on her part and groveling from him would be needed! And also the path to forgiveness would obvi be hard and long. Would there be a part where CJ would understand the extent of his shitty behavior to SY and how his love was HJ was never actually love, just a misunderstanding of the feelings he got from her “saving” him from the well? Which is never true to begin with
Also omg what if once CJ and SY confess their love to each other and are finally happily together, YP and HJ work together to kill SY which ended up with SY getting really really injured/ill? Obvi HJ would be more dangerous since CJ no longer loves her, and YP is just a stubborn mule who is bent on revenge and HJ could easily manipulate YP to do her bidding
Eitherway, love love love this chapter! I love reading CJ’s parts since we mostly always see SY’s thoughts and understanding on the situation! Best chapter so far and I knw you’ll just continue to write even more fantastic ones! All the love and good luck!! Xx

There is no way back for CJ and I really dislike how on the show he kinda ignores HJ instead of telling her everything. HJ is still a witch but I think she deserves better treatment in that part.
HJ and YP are very dangerous and they will create some drama for our royal couple and tears will be shed for sure. But happy days are coming too <3
I love writing CJ's pov because:
1. He's awesome
2. We both love Soyong lol

This is one of my favorite chapters ~ ❤️ I’ve already read it 5 times 🤣
I really loved this line as it greatly summarized CJ’s inner conflict : “Indeed, why did he want to kiss Soyong so much? He's probably out of his mind. Jo Hwa Jin, the woman to whom he promised his heart. So why does it beat treacherously faster at the sight of the Queen?”
CJ is really a fool in terms of deciphering a woman’s heart. It’s just right that SY won’t easily give her heart to a man that did various things to dismiss her and made her feel worthless. It will be difficult for SY to know if his “romantic” intentions are real or its just part of his scheme. The least she can give him first is friendship/ camaraderie..
After all those shitty things CJ did to SY, I felt it is just for him to put great effort to make amends with her. I hope to see more jelly CJ seeing SY interact with Byeong In or Yoon Min Joon, I think this will make CJ realize how jerk he was to SY which made her so distant to him.
I can just imagine how CJ overthinks on the best ways to gain her love, but SY just take his efforts lightly and dismiss his feelings. 🤣
Btw.. I really loved the ending of CJ having those kind of lusty dreams. It is really fun to read his POV when it comes to his feelings to SY. I think he still needs to seek more love advice with Director Hong haha

WAIT. HOLD UP. SY squeezing his clothes when they were about to kiss — AWW. Even CJ questioned their intimacy and SY managed to shove him away. So cuteeee, the two of them. Though CJ deserved it, and loved every word of Director Hong’s advice.
But now I am curious about what happens to YP now that he actually hurt BI and especially SY. Though I am happy to see the transition of CJ protecting SY. Now are we going to see BI vs YP bare chest push-ups? 🤭🕵️♀️
Not me looking into the comments for any spoilers about how CJ solved his end-chapter problems and I am just glad I am not the only one who wanted to know! 🤣🤣🤣
